Dark Chocolate Chia Bark featuring Health Warrior + Born To Run

Born to Run.

Dark Chocolate Chia Bark

No, I’m not describing myself (though, I wish I was). Instead, those three words are the title of the National Bestseller book Born to Run written by Christopher McDougall on the Tarahumara tribe – otherwise known as the tribe and people that inspired the creation of Health Warrior, one of my all-time favorite nutrition bars! You’ve probably seen a post or ten from me featuring these – I love them!

Health Warrior recently started a campaign called Operation Farm & Run, which is targeted to bring the brand back full circle and give back to the iconic ultra running Tarahumara tribe that inspired its creation. Health Warrior has been working for months to source chia seeds from Mexico’s Copper Canyon to become the basis of the new Mexican Chocolate Chia Bar (which is coming SOON!)

To learn more about the campaign and to help them reach their $40,000 goal by March 17, you can CLICK HERE to visit their kickstarter page!

In an effort to help spread the word about what Health Warrior is doing with this project, I wanted to help host a GIVEAWAY! What better way to spread the word, and the love, right??

In entering the giveaway, one lucky winner will win a copy of the national bestseller book Born to Run (highlighting the Tarahumara tribe) by Christopher McDougall along with a Health Warrior package of goodies. For full entry details, visit my IG: @foodfitnessandfaith!

Ingredients
  1. 2 2.8oz packages of dark chocolate of choice
  2. 6 acai berry Health Warrior chia bars
  3. 2 tablespoons pepita seeds
  4. 2 tablespoons pistachios
Instructions
  1. Melt dark chocolate in double broiler or microwave until fully melted, being careful not to burn.
  2. While chocolate melts, combine 6 bars in a bowl and mash together (using hands) to form one cohesive "dough".
  3. Spread chia dough out onto a small baking dish (I used a 4.5x4.5" small square dish) lined with aluminum foil or wax paper.
  4. Pour melted chocolate on top. Allow to cool slightly before topping with pepita seeds and pistachios.
  5. Place in freezer for 1 hour until set.
  6. Allow to thaw slightly before slicing. You can also store it in the fridge once set!

  1. Your blog has been such a blessing. I’m a college student and I have a huge hobby of running marathons. Without your blog I wouldn’t be eating the necessary nutrients or fueling my body in the right manner. Thank you for showing me that I don’t need to starve my body of what’s good and yummy to stay fit!

  2. That looks insanely delicious! And that book sounds so interesting! Entered on Instagram!
